ASCO offers several benchmarking programs and services to help practices understand how they compare to their peers, learn about best practices, and then use the information to improve the delivery of patient care and business operations.
The annual ASCO Practice Census collects information about oncology practitioners including specialty, services provided, practice setting, mergers and acquisitions, technology use, payer mix and patient volume. The data and insights obtained each year are chronicled in the Society's annual ASCO’s State of Cancer Care in America report, which helps drive future policy and advocacy efforts.
PracticeNET, a benchmarking collaborative, gives participating practices a unique opportunity to see their data compared to others and learn from their peers. PracticeNET practices submit data monthly and receive four quarterly reports each year which include both benchmarks, comparing an individual practice to a larger group, and trends, looking at individual practice performance over time.
The Survey of Oncology Practice Operations is an annual survey collecting detailed information about the business of cancer care and is an important tool to help practices navigate the ever-changing cancer delivery system. Participating practices receive a practice-specific report of survey results as well as a full report of survey findings.
