The Quality Training Program (QTP) Summer 2019 session at ASCO Headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia will be the first thematic QTP focusing on oncology team wellness and avoiding burnout. Meeting dates are July 11-12, September 18-19, and December 5. The application process will begin in April. Once applicants are accepted, they are paired with an improvement coach who can provide feedback and help participants outline their quality improvement goals and plans so they can get the most out of the session.
CMS recently posted new Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) resources to the Quality Payment Program (QPP) Resource Library:  
On October 30, CMS removed the Quality Payment Program (QPP) resources from CMS.gov to the newly redesigned QPP Resource Library on qpp.cms.gov. The new design includes a search function that allows you to search for resources by year, reporting track, performance category, and document type such as fact sheet, user guide, and measure specifications.
This year we celebrate Healthcare Quality Week October 21–26, a time dedicated to celebrating the contributions professionals have made to improve health care quality. For 2018, ASCO is using this time to recognize practices—and the individuals on their oncology care teams—that have participated in offerings and expansions in several Society programs aimed at improving the quality of cancer care. Applications are now being accepted for the West Coast session of ASCO’s Quality Training Program (QTP), which will be held off-site near City of Hope in California, beginning in January. The QTP brings cancer care teams together to select, design, and implement a quality improvement project at their practices. Applications are due Wednesday, December 5, 2018.
The number of international practices certified in delivering high-quality cancer care based on rigorous standards established by ASCO is increasing. The Medisprof Cancer Center in Romania joins six other practices in Brazil, Greece, and Spain in achieving ASCO’s Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI®) Certification. Medisprof Cancer Center, located in Cluj, Romania, is an outpatient hematology-oncology practice.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released proposed changes to the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule and Quality Payment Program in July. The comment period will close on Monday, September 10, 2018 by 5:00 PM ET. Please see the proposed rule for more information on how to submit your comments.
