The Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI®) Certification Program continues to expand its reach, certifying the first system within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the Salisbury VA Health Care System, on October 9.

ASCO Board Member Blase N. Polite, MD, MPA, FASCO, provided a keynote address to the European Cancer Summit on September 14 that was written up in The Parliament Magazine. His address focused on the high costs of healthcare in the U.S. and the importance of value-based care. ASCO is seeking 10 oncology practices in U.S. urban centers with high proportions of African-American patients with breast cancer in 11 specific metropolitan areas to participate in its Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI®), QOPI® Certification, and Quality Training Program (QTP) offerings, with training and funding support provided.
